Об альбоме
Episode 5 of "The Attic Diaries" is based on recordings of (probably) the second session the duo had performed, (probably) in late 2013, or early 2014. The surviving files from this occasion don't give a clue, as they are copies of copies (not revealing the date of the original anymore), and their names don't contain hints about that, either....
Still, some details of the music and the vague memory of the musicians involved make the assumption rather plausible.
Only one track, however, is an accurate representation of the actual session - or the first jam of two on that distant pre-Covid Winter evening rather, to be precise:
"Une Main Lave L'Autre" only has only received the slightest bit of trimming and some remastering, but otherwise is a plain recording of what was played...
"Patch De Balade" on the other hand is completely new, put together in December of 2023 - but then again, the source material is entirely taken from the same recording as the first piece, but sent through different chaines of digital processing to morph it into an exercise in abstract sonic painting.
The long "Des Perles Bleues Dans La Mansarde Hermétique" finally is (approximately) a 50/50 hybrid of parts of the (very extended, but also very slow evolving) second jam of that evening, intermingled with sequences and chord progressions which are brand new, produced in December 2023 to complement said parts, resulting in a sonic journey that in itself would be long enough to constitute an album.
(It might be also interesting to know that some of the elements from this jam would later form the backbone of a track by one of Michael Brückner's other collaborative projects - "Blue Pearls" by P'Faun...).
