this is the third full length album from room of wires, following on from their ‘plague of people’ release during lockdown. the new album builds upon their intense soundscape, with fractured beats, and fragile melodic moments that hint at brighter times ahead.
the duo still work in total isolation from each other, and this remoteness fuels the overall feel, yet somehow they manage to create an immense feeling of emotion throughout. one minute this album is brutal and digital, the next it's clearly warm and analog, a beautifully balanced combination.
you can really feel the real world journeys, the conversations, the arguments, as the field recordings all weave their way into the absorbing atmosphere. the harsh pounding beats are still there, alongside broken machinery, and shimmering synth layers that pierce the darkness.
