Fleetwood Mack: Live 1975 is a rare anniversary live release that captures a pivotal moment in the band’s story. Half a century ago, in the autumn of 1975, Fleetwood Mac set out across the United States to spread their first album with the new lineup—the one that would launch them to stardom with Californian duo Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham now on board. The album, deliberately self-titled, marked the reinvention of a group born ten years earlier in England and rooted in the blues-rock tradition cherished by founding guitarist Peter Green.<span class="post-br"><br></span>This collection of live recordings—captured at the Capitol Theatre in Passaic, New Jersey on 17 October 1975, and at the Jorgensen Auditorium in Storrs, Connecticut a few days later—captures a six-piece band brimming with energy. The set moves between older repertoire, including Green’s bluesy “Oh Well” and “The Green Manalishi,” and brand new material. Stevie Nicks delivers a fierce rendition of “Landslide,” written before she joined the band, along with the soon-to-be pop classic “Rhiannon”. It’s a setlist poised between past and present, radiating the freshness of a group just beginning its ascent—blues roots, rock fire, guitar solos, and a driving rhythm section.<span class="post-br"><br></span>The late Christine McVie handles introductions with easy charm, and the band's cohesion is immediately evident.
