She has gained great acclaim both as a solo artist and as the leader of the band Tokyo Jihen from 2003 to 2012 and from 2020 onwards.<span class="post-br"><br></span>She once called herself in "Shinjuku-kei Jisaku-Jien-ya" (新宿系自作自演屋; the person who performs in a play of her own writing in the Shinjuku style). She currently considers herself a singer of mood-songs and a light music player.<span class="post-br"><br></span>Celebrating 25 years since her debut, Shiina Ringo has released her first new album in five years, "Hojoya"!<span class="post-br"><br></span>In her previous album "Sandokushi" (2019), Shiina was impressed by the way she wrote songs for male voices such as Miyamoto Koji, Tortoise Matsumoto, and Sakurai Atsushi (BUCK-TICK).
