Об альбоме
Whrk is the alias of the Dutch producer Matthijs van der Geest also known as Whrikk aka which he uses for his other project more focused on trance music. As Whrk Matthijs delves into the most complex and cerebral music.
This Ep is the result of the mixture of analog synthesizers with the weird techniques of the digital technology, this allows him to achieve a result with a very clear sonic depth and at the same time convoluted by the genius and originality of this artist, especially the way of treating the basses and drums, those syncopated rhythms patterns unfold with those deep and sometimes acidic basses makes us remember those stellar moments of the best music of the 90s.
Throughout the ep we can also enjoy the best acid funk with jazzy reminiscences (Mt Gaba Neur) as well as a synthwave touch (Shell of life) tracks endowed with the same artist delicacy that surrounds the Whrk universe.
Although this release is essentially very experimental in the treatment we can glimpse a strong melodic content that really connects us with the music, Matthijs has undoubtedly made us a great gift to all fans of the most melancholic experimental and restless music.
